Scrapping is different from selling. When a car is at the end of its life, failed MOT, non-runner, damaged beyond economic repair, or simply not worth putting on AutoTrader, what you need is a buyer who takes it as-is, collects it from your driveway, and pays you the same day.
We cover Rochester and the Medway towns as part of our Kent-wide collection area. Our recovery truck runs 24 hours a day, which matters when the car is not going anywhere under its own power.

A car that has failed its MOT, sustained accident damage, or stopped running is hard to sell privately. Many private buyers want a running car with a current MOT. Part-exchange at a dealer can mean accepting a lower figure, especially for a vehicle that needs recovery or repair.
Scrapping, or selling to an end-of-life vehicle buyer, removes those barriers. You get a price based on the vehicle’s condition, details, and current market factors, rather than a private resale route.
We buy vehicles in any condition: running or non-running, taxed or untaxed, MOT failure, write-off, fire-damaged, flood-damaged, or simply high-mileage and worn out. There is no condition we turn away without assessing first.
Scrap and end-of-life pricing is not one-size-fits-all. The figure we quote reflects a combination of factors:
We quote over the phone after taking your registration number and asking a few questions about the vehicle's condition. There are no admin fees or hidden collection charges. The price we agree is the price you receive when the vehicle matches the details provided. We confirm the quote before any collection is booked.
The process from call to collection follows the same steps for every Rochester job:
We do not collect without confirming the price in advance. We do not arrive and revise the quote downwards on the day. If the vehicle's condition matches what you described on the call, the agreed price stands.
Rochester sits in the heart of the Medway towns, along with Chatham, Gillingham, and Strood. We cover all four as part of our regular Kent collection route from our Sittingbourne base on Crown Quay Lane, roughly 15 miles from the centre of Rochester via the A2 and M2. That is a standard run for our recovery truck, and we do not charge a travel premium for Medway collections.
The recovery truck covers Rochester round the clock. If your car has stopped working on a weekday evening or over the weekend and you want it gone, collection timing is flexible. You do not need to wait until a branch opens on Monday morning.
Rochester's local roads, the A2 through Strood, the A289 connecting Chatham and Rochester, and access routes from the A228, are all accessible for our flatbed vehicle. We have collected from driveways close to Rochester Castle and on the roads running down to the Medway waterfront. If you are not sure whether your location is straightforward to access, ring us and we will tell you honestly.
You do not need it, but it helps. The V5C (logbook) allows us to notify the DVLA of the transfer of ownership more efficiently. If you have lost it, we can still collect the vehicle and advise you on how to notify the DVLA yourself. If you do not have the logbook, DVLA says you cannot use the online service and must write to DVLA with the sale details. We will not use a missing V5C as a reason to reduce the price.
Yes. Our recovery truck can load from a driveway with reasonable access. If the vehicle is in a garage with a standard-height door and pull-forward access, we can usually handle it. Tell us the layout when you ring, and we will confirm what we need. We need to understand the access, clearance, and loading space for the recovery vehicle.
End-of-life vehicles go through a depollution and dismantling process. Fluids are drained first, recoverable parts are assessed for reuse or resale, and what remains goes to metal recycling. The DVLA is notified, so the vehicle comes off your name, and your road tax is cancelled automatically. We handle the notification paperwork on collection day.
Yes. You need to transfer the personalised registration to another vehicle or put it on retention through the DVLA before we collect. This is a straightforward process on the DVLA website. Once the retention is confirmed, the vehicle will show a different registration, and we will collect it on that plate. Let us know in advance, and we will allow time for this to be sorted before we book the collection.
No minimum or maximum age. We have collected vehicles a year old with severe accident damage and vehicles over 30 years old that simply stopped being roadworthy. What matters is the condition and what the vehicle contains, not how old it is. Tell us the make, model, and year on the call, and we will quote accordingly.
No admin fees. Collection at a time that works for you, across Rochester and the Medway towns.
